Historical Tourism
As North Carolina’s oldest town, Bath is rich in history. First incorporated in 1705, in the early 1700’s, the town served as the first port of entry in North Carolina. Trade in naval stores, tobacco and furs thrived in the region, and by 1707 the first shipyard was established. The town’s rich history is still evident to this day with many old colonial homes and churches still standing.
